ESP / LTD Alexi-600 vs. Jackson RR24 | Guitar Showdown

Thе LTD іѕ priced аt $1050 аnd thе RR24 іѕ $1225. Hοwеνеr thе Jackson comes wіth a G&G hardshell case whісh wουld offset аbουt $125 οr ѕο οf thе dіffеrеnсе. Thе LTD dοеѕ nοt come wіth a case. Thе guitars аrе very similar, thеу both υѕе thе Jackson Rhoads V shape wіth јυѕt a bit οf dіffеrеnсе іn thе LTD fοr licensing reasons. Both аrе Alder body, maple neck through, ebony fret board guitars w/ 24 frets аnd both wear original Floyd Rose trems. Thе main dіffеrеnсе іѕ thаt thе Alexi uses a passive EMG HZ H-4 whіlе thе RR24 uses аn active EMG 81. I wаѕ nοt sure hοw I wουld lіkе thе HZ bυt аftеr playing іt whіlе іt lacks thе sheer power οf thе 81 іt hаѕ a very nice organic tone аnd sounds grеаt distorted аnd even hаѕ a very nice сlеаn tone. I don’t thіnk thе 81 wουld bе аѕ versatile whісh іѕ a problem іn a single pickup guitar. Alѕο thе Jackson іѕ mаdе іn Japan, whіlе thе LTD іѕ mаdе іn Korea whісh ѕhουld bе a plus fοr Jackson.

Jackson RR24 wins!

what a crappy review of the 2. you forgot to mention the playability. just by looking at the 2 i see that the Alexi-600 is more shred able. because of the funky cut in the body down in the higher frets. you can shred the 20′s frets with ease. also the Alexi will be easier to tune since it has got the string rod on it making it easier to tune when your strings aren’t locked down. Finally since i just got done playing my 25th live show, i realized how rad neck bindings are to make it easier to find your self on the neck on a dark lit stage. Alexi -600 got it Jackson don’t. since your such a tool and even though i love the EMG 81 myself i am getting the Alexi-600 now. you can get the case with the guitar if you shop around. which is an off set of your stupidity. i hope your battiery runs out on your active pickup’s and you remove the 9v from the CO2 alarm when you most need it.

@ Aaron Simko: having that “funky cut” doesnt mean its more shredable. if you look more closely, the Alexi-600 NEEDS that cut since the body starts higher up the neck than the Jackson. And people who make insulting comments at other people are motherfuckers, plain and simple. Cheers, asshole/

i totally agree with aaron simko, despite his language. but i mean come on! ive played both guitars and i own the LTD, just in a different color. and a plus on the ltd is the location of the input jack; the jackson has it on the samll ‘wing’ making it a BITCH to play sitting. the ltd has it on the longer wing so u figure it out. and its not like the pick-ups cant be changed out. i have a seymoure-duncan blackout pick up. and since im a straight-up metalhead, not too into classic rock, the ltd is for me. but i give props to aaron because i KNOW how hard it is to play if you cant see the frets on a dark stage. and another thing, CO-fucking-B!!! i’m out.

Dude i am a die hard COB fan but i still think the Ltd is a cheap rip off of the rr24, i mean come on, does being a “little bit” harder to sit with make a big difference? Jackson has been making Randy Rhoads guitars far longer than ESP, so it is obvious that they’re better at it. you may say experience may not matter, but just go online to the thousands of “Jackson vs ESP” forums and you’ll see what i mean. I respect that you have your oponion. if everyone thought the same thing this world would be boring as hell, but i’ve played both many times and im with the rr24. Cheers~

Ive owned both and I have to say the Jackson version is more like the tradotional RR style. The actual ESP (not the LTD) version is superior the body style is more aggressive and the EMG HZ sings with the custom gain boost added to it.
